Seminar: Lighting Theories & Styles

Jonathan has been involved in the lighting industry for two decades. His experience is gained from solving lighting issues for a variety of clients industry wide including Broadcaster and Production facilities of all sizes. In doing so Jonathan has built up a wealth of practical experience in real world, real time issues in production lighting. The two hour lighting seminar will touch on some of the most common challenges faced in production lighting and the techniques to resolve them.
The seminar will be broken down into 2 categories; Studio Lighting and Location Lighting.
The Studio Lighting segment will mainly contain information on energy efficient lighting, how to use it properly and how it affects the newer HD cameras. Lighting angles and how much light is needed to get great results will be discussed. This first segment should last 30 - 45 minutes with a question and answer period to flow.
The Location Lighting segment will contain information on how to get great results by using what you have. We will discuss lighting techniques using three different lighting kits; Basic, Intermediate & Advanced. People will have a chance to come up and assist with the demonstrations along with trying to figure out lighting problems that will be created. The segment will cover 1-light, 2-light and multiple-light shooting styles along with other lighting styles available when you have some of the best equipment possible. This portion will also cover color correction, portability and the proper use of grip equipment. This segment will touch on Tungsten, Fluorescent and LED lighting. Segment run time is appoximately 1.5 hours and will end with a question and answer period.
